PATTERN DESCRIPTION

Beret with cut-off band and lined underside.

SUGGESTED MATERIALS

Any suiting fabric, also you can use tweed or denim.

FABRIC REQUIREMENT (CM/IN)
for fabric width 1.50 m (1 ⅝ yd)

Main fabric and lining — 35 cm (13 3/4’’). When purchasing fabric, please account for shrinkage and buy 5—10% more than required.

SEAM ALLOWANCES

Important! Pattern pieces already include necessary seam allowances.

Width of fabric — 1.50 m (1 ⅝ yd)

SEWING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Sew the top of the beret (1) with the lining (1) in a circle at 0.5 cm (3/16’’) from the edge. Place the parts wrong sides together.

2. Sew the band pieces (2) from the main fabric face to face at 1 cm (3/8’’) from the edge, press the allowances. Sew the lining parts in the same way (2).

3. Place the top between the band pieces, pin along the notches and stitch in a circle at 1 cm (3/8’’) from the edge.

4. Topstitch along the band at 0.2 cm (1/16’’) from the seam, press the seam lightly.

5. Stitch the band pieces along the bottom edge.

6. Press the band (3) in half and stitch into a ring. Press the seam. Stitch along the open cut.

7. Place the loop face to face with the band, align the seams and notches and stitch, overlock or zigzag the cut and press towards the beret.

8. Give the beret a final press.
